Booker hosted their annual bonfire night celebrations for their colleagues, friends and family.
The annual event is run to recognise and celebrate the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm of colleagues at Booker’s support centre.
The evening was a huge success in raising over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Jetpacks made sure everyone stayed warm with tea, coffee and hot chocolate without missing any of the evening’s entertainment, using their mobile drinks dispensers in return for donations to the charity.
“We were delighted to be involved in such an exciting event, a fantastic way for employees to come together for a great night, whilst raising funds for such an amazing charity”, Helen Lloyd from Jetpacks commented.
Global food giant Nestlé along with several other suppliers also offered their services, to ensure the night was a success for the guests, and to boost the money raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rebecca Bishop, Area Fundraising Manager, Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “It is a fantastic achievement by Booker. These funds raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support provide cancer information, benefits advice, emotional and practical support to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.”
Macmillan Cancer Support mark the 40th anniversary of its first Macmillan nurse today. In 1975 Macmillan first introduced a team of nurses who helped around 250 patients between them. There are now over 3,600 Macmillan nurses reaching more than 550,000 people affected by cancer.
